Job summary

Actalent in Ann Arbor, MI is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance a Battery Management Systems (BMS) platform. You will lead embedded software development for production products, shaping architecture and driving cross-disciplinary collaboration among systems, hardware, validation, and manufacturing teams.

You will own software through the V-model lifecycle, design protection, diagnostics, cell monitoring, and SOC/SOH concepts, and mentor partners.

Qualifications

Embedded software experience for production products.
BMS, battery systems, or power electronics background.
CAN protocols and automotive interfaces experience.
Cross-discipline collaboration across hardware/software teams.
Familiarity with V-model and verification processes.
Ability to work with limited direction in a fast-paced team.

Responsibilities

Develop and support BMS software from requirements through production release.
Design and implement BMS functions: protection, diagnostics, balancing, SOC/SOH.
Own complex BMS issues spanning software, hardware, and communications.
Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Validation, and Manufacturing teams.
Define verification methods and perform hands-on integration using BMS hardware.
Provide technical direction to external engineering partners.
Develop embedded software interfacing with electronics and sensors.
Maintain traceability, architecture, and configuration management across lifecycle.
