Job summary

Brooksource is seeking a hands-on Mechanical Engineer to support battery pack development in Novi, MI. This on-site role covers the full development lifecycle—from design to validation—and offers opportunities from mid-level to senior/lead, including HV battery pack expertise.

You will own components, design structures, work with suppliers, and help prototype, test, and troubleshoot to drive robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical design and product development experience.
• Strong 3D CAD experience; SolidWorks highly preferred.
• Experience creating and modifying mechanical designs.
• Understanding of manufacturability and design for cost.
• Experience across multiple stages of product lifecycle.
• Exposure to prototypes, hardware, assembly, testing, and validation.
• Ability to work with suppliers and manufacturing teams.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical components and subsystems from design through validation.
• Create and modify 3D CAD models and detailed designs.
• Design structures, enclosures, mounting systems, interfaces.
• Evaluate components for performance, manufacturability, reliability, cost.
• Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners.
• Support prototype builds, assembly, testing, troubleshooting.
• Perform root cause analysis and drive resolution.
• Develop drawings and support GD&T and tolerancing.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Independently own complex technical problems to completion.
