Job summary

Gauge Engineering Services seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to develop software for airborne mission computer systems in military helicopters. You will design and implement embedded software for single board computers, build drivers for hardware interfaces, and work in Linux/RTOS environments.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a technical field.
Embedded C/C++ experience and Linux knowledge.
RTOS experience (LynxOS, Integrity, VxWorks, QNX, or similar).
Embedded hardware or single board computer development experience.
Strong reading and execution of technical docs.
Excellent debugging and problem solving in Agile teams.

Responsibilities

Develop embedded software in C/C++ for single board computer platforms in airborne systems.
Design, develop, and maintain device drivers interfacing with hardware/FPGA.
Work in Linux-based and RTOS environments.
Participate in Agile sprint planning, execution, testing, and delivery.
Interpret requirements and engineering documentation with high accuracy.
Integrate, troubleshoot, and validate software with hardware subsystems.
Collaborate across discipline teams on avionics and mission system tech.
Contribute to internal R&D on defense technologies.
Support software verification, debugging, and performance optimization.
