Job summary

Impinj, Inc. is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for ARM 64/32 bit processors used in RFID reader platforms.

You will own hardware bring-up, driver development, and cross-functional collaboration with hardware, QA, and cloud teams. You will mentor junior engineers, optimize code for performance and power, and contribute to architecture reviews while delivering scalable embedded Linux solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 5+ years of progressive software development experience with embedded solutions.
• Expertise in C and modern C++ for embedded systems.
• Proficiency in Python.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain embedded software on ARM 64/32 bit processors and microcontrollers.
• Own bring-up of new hardware platforms, including driver development and board-level diagnostics.
• Contribute to architecture and design reviews to ensure code quality and scalability.
• Optimize code for performance, memory usage, and power in resource-constrained environments.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across embedded systems.
• Write and maintain documentation for software architecture, design, and code.
• Conduct unit testing and ensure requirements are met.
• Collaborate with embedded, QA, Factory Test, and Hardware teams to improve processes and solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support team growth.
