Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Software Engineer for the ADAS Interactive Experience to design and deliver automotive embedded software spanning MCU and SoC platforms. You will connect vehicle signals, sensors, and real-time controls to services powering driver-facing alerts and experiences, applying strong system design to ensure safety, determinism, and reliability.

The role requires C/C++ development experience on MCU and SoC, familiarity with Embedded Linux/RTOS, and collaboration across

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
5+ years in embedded software for production automotive products.

Responsibilities

Design and develop production automotive embedded systems using C/C++ across MCU and SoC.
Translate vehicle requirements into software architectures, interfaces, and data flows.
Participate in architecture reviews addressing latency, determinism, safety, and cybersecurity.
Create interfaces between MCU firmware and SoC services for driver controls and alerts.
Ensure software behaves across power states, faults, and recovery scenarios.
Collaborate with systems, electrical, HMI, ADAS, and validation teams through vehicle programs.
Write clean, well-documented code following embedded standards and team practices.
Debug cross-domain issues involving MCU, vehicle networks, IPC, and OS behavior.
Own major features end-to-end from concept to production launch and field maintenance.
Improve productivity via tooling, build, test, and developer workflows.
