Job summary

Silvus Technologies, a Motorola Solutions subsidiary, seeks a Senior Embedded Security Engineer for the Software Engineering team in West Los Angeles, CA on a hybrid schedule requiring three onsite days (Mon/Wed/Thu).

The role focuses on securing Linux-based embedded systems, conducting security assessments, vulnerability management, and kernel hardening, with eligibility for a SECRET clearance or ability to obtain one within 15 months of hire.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with 5+ years embedded software experience OR HS diploma with 10+ years in Linux security/embedded systems security.
• C/C++ coding in Linux environments.
• Security clearance: Active U.S. Government SECRET or ability to obtain within 15 months.
• Must be a U.S. citizen due to U.S. government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement Linux-based security for embedded systems, including secure boot and kernel hardening.
• Conduct security assessments and audits of Linux-based embedded systems to identify and mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Manage vulnerabilities in Linux-based embedded systems, including timely patching and kernel updates.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
