Job summary

Latitude AI seeks an experienced RTOS Engineering Manager in California to lead the RTOS team driving real-time scheduling, memory protection, and cross-core isolation for safety-critical systems. You will shape API design for embedded runtimes and guide platform-wide RTOS strategies across multiple teams.

You’ll work with hardware safety and safety engineering, manage hiring and career growth, and ensure alignment with automotive safety standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, CS, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or related field with 10 years of experience.
• Embedded systems or RTOS development experience with leadership/management.
• Deep knowledge of real-time scheduling, MPU/MMU, and low-level C.
• Experience designing APIs for embedded runtimes; multicore RTOS.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow a team of senior and staff embedded systems engineers responsible for the RTOS build, configuration, and runtime layer.
• Set technical direction for scheduling policy, memory protection, fault handling, and multicore partitioning to meet real-time deadline and safety requirements.
• Guide the design of new C runtime APIs and primitives for memory allocation and isolation.
• Own RTOS-level isolation across cores and coordinate with hardware safety protections.
• Partner with hardware safety team to ensure automotive functional safety requirements are met.
