Job summary

Latitude AI is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer (C++) to lead hardware safety and power management on real-time embedded targets. The role focuses on designing safe-state strategies, coordinating PMIC sequencing, and ensuring robust diagnostics across safety-critical firmware.

You will implement drivers for PMICs and safety sensors on FreeRTOS or bare-metal platforms, perform rigorous code reviews, and mentor junior engineers on ISO 26262 traceability and safety patterns.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics or a related field; 4+ years of experience (or advanced degrees with respective years).
• Strong embedded C/C++ experience with low-level design and memory management.
• Experience with ARM Cortex-R5F and memory-mapped I/O, interrupt controllers, MPU configurations, and register-level debugging.
• Proven experience configuring MPUs and safety-critical driver development for PMICs, sensors, or similar.
• Familiarity with ISO 26262 functional safety concepts and safety-driven design.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end hardware safety and power management architecture, including safe-state strategies and thermal management.
• Develop low-level drivers and firmware for PMICs, voltage supervisors, and thermal sensors on bare-metal/RTOS platforms.
• Lead integration of safety diagnostics (LBIST/PBIST/ECC) and ensure coverage aligns with ISO 26262 metrics.
• Perform deep-dive code reviews to maintain clean interfaces, error handling, and testability.
• Act as SME for hardware-firmware-safety interfaces; mentor engineers on safety patterns and traceability.
