Teledyne FLIR Defense is seeking a seasoned Software Engineer to join our multi-disciplinary team developing next‑generation multi‑spectral imaging systems for defense applications.

You will design low-level hardware interfacing software, work with real‑time OS environments, and implement real‑time multi‑processor communication across diverse hardware platforms. A strong C/C++ background and Linux kernel driver experience are essential.

Formación

• BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical field.
• 10+ years of embedded real-time development experience for multithreaded software.
• Fluency in C/C++ and OO design methods.
• Familiarity with software development, configuration management, and defect tracking tools.
• Experience with Linux kernel drivers and interfacing to custom hardware.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for program eligibility.

Responsabilidades

• Design and implement low level hardware interfacing software for imaging sensors in a multithreaded environment.
• Exposure to real-time operating systems such as Linux, FreeRTOS, or VxWorks is a plus.
• Develop real-time multi-processor communication methods.
• Implement serial and packetized protocols over Ethernet, ARINC, CAN, and serial interfaces (TCP/IP, JSON, REST).
• Use Git or similar version control tools and collaborate with FPGA, Electrical, and Mechanical teams.
• Foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and knowledge sharing across projects.
