Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain applications and embedded software for advanced analytical instrumentation systems.

You will contribute across the software development lifecycle, delivering instrument control, data analysis, user interfaces, and scientific applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams. Requires 5+ years of software development experience and strong C#/.NET skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field; equivalent experience considered.
• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Strong proficiency in C#, .NET, and object-oriented software design.
• Experience with Git and collaborative software development practices.
• Experience developing multi-threaded applications and performing software debugging. Understanding of security principles.
• Familiarity with communication protocols and embedded software architectures.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance, if required.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software applications and embedded systems throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Develop software solutions for instrument control, user interfaces, data acquisition, and analytical processing.
• Implement innovative user interfaces, data analysis capabilities, and instrument troubleshooting and debugging.
• Support new product development and sustain existing products through enhancements, defect resolution, and performance improvements.
• Collaborate with engineering, scientific, project management, and manufacturing teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Plan, track, and communicate project activities and development schedules.
