Job summary

Teledyne FLIR Defense seeks a Sr. Linux Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain software for advanced analytical instrumentation systems and embedded platforms.

You will work across the full software development lifecycle and contribute to instrument control, data processing, and algorithmic solutions. The role requires strong embedded Linux experience, C/C++ proficiency, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a high-stakes defense environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Software Eng or equivalent.
• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++, and C#, .NET.
• Experience with embedded Linux and Yocto/BitBake.
• Ability to obtain/maintain US government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software for embedded systems.
• Develop instrument control, UIs, data processing, and analytical algorithms.
• Implement user interfaces, data analysis features, and debugging.
• Support new product development and sustain existing products.
• Collaborate with engineering, science, PM, and manufacturing teams.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and continuous improvement.
