Job summary

Blue Origin LLC is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Avionics Engineer in Washington to deliver space-rated avionics sub-systems and develop high/low voltage designs for motor control schemes. You will support FMECA, DFx, and root-cause analysis while communicating status and risks to leadership.

The role requires a strong background in electrical/avionics design, hands-on development, and collaboration across engineering teams through the product lifecycle of space hardware.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical/avionics design.
  • Understanding of high-voltage switching and high power regulation (SMPS).
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, grounding, and board layout principles.
  • Experience with mixed-signal circuit design including analysis, simulation, testing, troubleshooting, and part selection.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver space-rated avionics sub-systems including requirements development, design, testing, and verification planning/execution.
  • Develop and manage high and low voltage avionics designs within a motor control scheme.
  • Support FMECA, DFx, and root-cause analyses of test discrepancies.
  • Communicate development status, risks, and challenges to management.
