Job summary

Neros Technologies is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer in Torrance, CA to own the embedded Linux platform across flight, ground-station, and autonomy software teams. You will manage the distribution, kernel, bootloader, and SDK that power our drones and related systems.

You will drive platform bring-up, kernel configuration, and secure boot, while mentoring cross-functional teams and shaping common runtime libraries and tooling used by multiple product lines.

Qualifications

• Deep embedded Linux experience with custom images (Yocto/Buildroot).
• Kernel-level competence: drivers, device trees, debugging on hardware.
• Bootloader experience (U-Boot or similar) including secure boot concepts.

Responsibilities

• Own embedded Linux distribution and board support packages from bring-up to field updates.
• Configure kernel, drivers, and bootloader; ensure secure boot and safe update/recovery paths.
• Design and maintain common runtime libraries, logging, telemetry, IPC, and the SDK.
• Bring up new compute platforms from power-on to production OS image.
• Mentor engineers across teams to follow platform best practices.
