Job summary

Neros is seeking an Autonomy Platform Lead to own the onboard software platform for all Neros unmanned aircraft, spanning runtime architecture, real time scheduling, and the build, release, and deployment path onto the aircraft. Qualifications

• 5+ years of embedded/real time software, with 2+ years as tech lead or manager.
• Experience delivering software to physical vehicles or embedded platforms.
• Expert C++ on embedded Linux with Python for tooling.
• Architectures for robotics runtime, IPC, and scheduling; ROS 2, DDS or equivalents.
• Real time systems knowledge: scheduling, CPU affinity, jitter analysis.
• Time sync across sensors/compute/flight controller; hardware timestamping.
• Build, release and CI for embedded targets; cross-compilation, Yocto/Buildroot.
• On-vehicle data logging at high rate; log integrity and bandwidth budgeting.
• Deploying neural networks to embedded accelerators with quantization.

Responsibilities

• Own autonomy runtime architecture, module interfaces, and latency guarantees.
• Maintain single runtime across vehicle platforms; enforce configuration boundaries.
• Oversee real time scheduling, latency accounting, and data logging implementation.
• Own build, release, and deployment of autonomy software to bench and field vehicles.
• Represent autonomy in hardware co-design and BOM decisions regarding compute, power, and thermal.
• Lead and grow the platform team while contributing directly as an engineer.
