Job summary

Amazon in Sunnyvale is hiring a Sr Embedded Software Development Engineer to design and develop real-time firmware and embedded Linux software for next-generation devices. You will collaborate with customers, system architects, program managers and hardware engineers to implement, troubleshoot, and fix kernel drivers and BSP for platform security and performance.

You will lead design efforts, mentor teammates, and contribute to code and design reviews while delivering reliable embedded solutions

Qualifications

5+ years of professional software development experience.
5+ years of embedded development in C/C++.
Experience mentoring or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain efficient, reusable C/C++ code for embedded systems.
Debug and troubleshoot kernel drivers, BSP, and OS framework integration.
Identify bottlenecks and bugs during product integration and field use.
Develop low-level embedded software including kernel drivers and network stacks.
Develop, port, and test software and firmware layers within the Linux kernel.
Maintain code quality, documentation, and test automation.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
Participate in code and design reviews.
