Job summary

Amaris Consulting is seeking a Senior Embedded Linux Software Engineer to join its R&D team. You will work on embedded Linux-based systems, contributing across the full software lifecycle from architecture through deployment.

The role involves Yocto-based Linux, multithreaded and real-time applications in C/C++, and collaboration with cross-functional and international teams. The position is Hybrid – 3 days per week onsite in Westford, MA, with opportunities to influence safety-critical,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field.
• 7+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Strong experience with embedded Yocto Linux-based systems.
• Proficiency in C and C++ for embedded applications.
• Experience with multithreaded, multiprocess and real-time embedded software.
• Familiarity with Yocto/BitBake.
• Experience with Azure IoT or similar IoT platforms.
• Good understanding of software development methodologies and engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the embedded software development lifecycle from requirements to deployment.
• Design, develop and maintain embedded applications on Yocto-based Linux systems.
• Develop multithreaded, multiprocess and real-time embedded applications in C/C++.
• Analyze requirements and contribute to software architecture decisions.
• Debug and troubleshoot software and hardware issues with appropriate tools.
• Perform code reviews and contribute to software quality practices.
• Participate in software integration, verification and validation activities.
• Collaborate with teams across locations including Azure IoT connected embedded systems.
