Spectrum Control seeks an Embedded Software Engineer to design and implement infrastructure for embedded Linux, develop high-quality C/C++ software for ARM processors, and support test automation. You will work on Yocto-based builds, cross-compilation, and instrument control applications, with opportunities to apply AI tools and contribute to verification methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/EE/CE required.
• 5+ years of embedded software development experience.
• expert-level knowledge of Linux and building embedded Linux with Yocto (custom layers/recipes, BSP integration, kernel config, device trees, U-Boot).
• strong knowledge of computer networking protocols and tools, and computer architecture.
• strong C/C++ skills for embedded software on ARM, cross-compilation toolchains, hardware interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART), and debugging with JTAG/GDB.
• scripting in Python and Bash for build automation and test tooling.
• experience with Yocto-based embedded Linux for FPGA SoCs preferred.
• C#/.NET for test applications preferred.
• SCPI over VISA (GPIB, LXI/Ethernet, USBTMC) for instrument control preferred.
• embedded security practices (secure boot, encrypted filesystems, signed updates) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Build and deploy Linux OS using Yocto Build Flow.
• Maintain software revisions with Git and Docker.
• Develop embedded C/C++ software for ARM-based processors.
• Develop computer networking software infrastructure.
• Develop automated test software in C# to control RF test instruments.
• Apply AI tools to improve productivity and problem solving.
• Derive requirements and verification methods for embedded systems.
• Produce documentation of system functionality.
• Provide internal and external customer support as needed.
