Job summary

Syntech is seeking a Senior Embedded Engineer to drive development of fuel control systems running Linux-based platforms. You will build, deploy, and maintain custom Embedded Linux distributions using Yocto, contribute to security and update strategies, and expand Linux integration across devices.

You’ll write shell, Python, and C; collaborate across teams to deliver robust, user-facing embedded solutions. The role emphasizes a hands-on engineer with strong documentation and communication

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of tenure with prior employers.
• Strong Linux experience; 5+ years building/maintaining distributions.
• Proficiency in Python and POSIX shell scripting.
• Proficient with Git and modern source control workflows.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; clear documentation.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain custom Embedded Linux distributions for Syntech’s fuel management systems using Yocto Project tools.
• Define and implement deployment and software update strategies.
• Develop approaches to meet security and compliance requirements.
• Expand Linux integration across devices and product lines.
• Write embedded software in shell script, Python, and C.
• Support software on hardware that interacts with users and other devices.
• Innovate and solve complex technical challenges.
