Job summary

Arcfield seeks an experienced Embedded Linux Software Developer to join our Naval Research Lab team in the Washington, DC area. You will develop and maintain secure Linux-based embedded systems, collaborating with hardware engineers to optimize performance and security.

Requires 5+ years of relevant experience, strong C/C++ skills, and hands-on Linux kernel knowledge. Familiarity with Yocto/OpenEmbedded and version control with Git is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience developing embedded Linux solutions.
• Proficiency with Yocto Project/OpenEmbedded or willingness to learn.
• C/C++ programming for Linux.
• Understanding of Linux kernel, drivers, and board bring-up.
• Git version control experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain embedded Linux systems for diverse applications.
• Design, implement, and debug Linux-based software components.
• Customize Linux distributions using Yocto/OpenEmbedded.
• Integrate open-source and proprietary software into embedded systems.
• Advise on kernel optimization and security best practices.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers for smooth hardware/software integration.
• Profile, analyze, and debug system performance and stability.
