Job summary

SR2 | Socially Responsible Recruitment | Certified B Corporation™ is seeking an experienced embedded firmware engineer to own system software from kernel to runtime for a fleet of connected health devices. You will architect secure boot, device trust, and signing workflows, working closely with overseas manufacturing partners to ensure scalable, high-quality deployments.

The role requires deep expertise in Embedded Linux, Yocto/Bitbake, and kernel development, with a focus on secure software

Qualifications

• 5+ years of firmware and system software development experience in C/C++.
• Deep expertise in Embedded Linux, including Yocto, Bitbake, systemd, and kernel development.
• Proficiency in secure software development for IoT/embedded systems.
• Experience implementing secure boot, chain of trust, signing, key management/provisioning, and anti-rollback.

Join a small, high-autonomy team building the embedded Linux platform and security architecture behind a fleet of connected health devices already live in members' homes.

You'll own system software from kernel to runtime, build out secure boot and device trust from the ground up, and work directly with overseas manufacturing partners to ship a high-quality, high-scale product.

Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of firmware and system software development experience in C/C++
• Deep expertise in Embedded Linux, including Yocto, Bitbake, systemd, and kernel development
• Proficiency in secure software development for IoT/embedded systems
• Experience implementing secure boot, chain of trust, signing, key management/provisioning, and anti-rollback
• Experience optimizing compute workloads in resource-constrained environments
• WILINGNESS to travel internationally to support manufacturing and deployment

Good to Have

• Hands-on experience with OP-TEE / Trusted Execution Environments (TAs, secure service integration with Linux)
• Wireless comms expertise (Bluetooth, Wi-Fi)
• Strong iterative, fast-paced problem-solving approach
