Job summary

Verkada Inc. seeks a Senior Embedded Linux Engineer - Connectivity in San Mateo to own device software and firmware lifecycle.

You will drive end‑to‑end design, implement efficient Linux-based solutions, and collaborate with product teams to deliver reliable security, sensors, and connectivity features. You bring 4+ years in embedded engineering, strong C/C++ or Go skills, and experience with FreeRTOS and Embedded Linux.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of work experience in an embedded engineering role.
• Proficient in C, C++ or Go.
• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems and FreeRTOS.
• Experience with networking and wireless protocols preferred.
• Willing and able to work onsite five days per week.

Responsibilities

• Build software and firmware for devices shipped to customers.
• Own engineering cycle end to end: scope, architecture, low‑level design.
• Demonstrate methodical problem solving, debugging and reliability.
• Learn new technologies critical to product development.
• Collaborate with product management and cross‑functional teams to ship features.
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to backend services when needed.
