Job summary

Meta is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer focused on Connectivity/Wireless to design, implement, and optimize firmware across AR/VR devices. You will work on kernel, drivers, and wireless stacks, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ship high-performance, low-latency software.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 7+ years software development experience in industry settings or PhD with 4+ years of experience.
• 3+ years embedded software development experience in industry settings.
• Experience in large-scale C/C++ code base.
• Experience defining and driving technical work streams and providing technical leadership for software engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement software components across all system layers including kernel and I/O systems.
• Develop drivers and services for constrained environments with low latency and high bandwidth.
• Lead hardware bring up, peripheral drivers, silicon integration, and power/performance optimization.
• Debug complex, system-level issues spanning kernel to application.
• Profile performance and drive optimizations across the software stack.
• Integrate components from multiple teams into a unified product code base.
• Develop firmware for devices including sensing, imaging, and haptic systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to add features in connectivity space (Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc.).
• Enhance systems with wireless interfaces and support QA, manufacturing, and other software teams.
