Henpen Corporation in Sioux Falls, SD seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead architecture and development of Linux-based embedded systems for aerospace platforms. This hands-on role requires strong C/C++, Linux kernel, and Yocto expertise.

You will partner with customers and cross-functional teams to translate mission requirements into reliable software solutions, mentor engineers, and ensure ISO quality processes across flight, field, and production environments.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 8+ years with a bachelor’s degree, or 6+ years with a masters; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Advanced experience with C/C++, Linux kernel development, and Linux application development.
• Working knowledge of Yocto recipes, layers, and build configurations.
• Strong Linux shell scripting, automation, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsabilidades

• Lead software architecture, design decisions, and technical direction.
• Develop and maintain C/C++ applications and Linux kernel components.
• Build and maintain Yocto-based Linux distributions, including recipes, layers, and build configurations.
• Use shell scripting and Linux tools to automate workflows, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
• Collaborate with customers to define requirements and present technical solutions.
• Support Business Development with technical proposals, bids, and program capture activities.
• Mentor engineers and technicians through technical guidance and sound engineering practices.
• Coordinate software integration with systems engineering, manufacturing, and production teams.
• Follow established engineering processes and ISO quality standards.
