Job summary

Google Sunnyvale, CA is seeking an Embedded Systems Engineer focused on High Speed DSP to help shape AI/ML hardware acceleration. You will help drive TPU technology and develop firmware for physical-layer silicon, bridging DSP pipelines with Google's AI infrastructure.

You will define firmware architectures, monitor calibration loops, and collaborate with TPU Systems, Networking Software, and HPC teams to ensure seamless integration across data-center systems. English proficiency is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 10 years of embedded systems/firmware or DSP development experience.
• Experience developing embedded software for high-speed physical-layer interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Define the long-term firmware roadmap and hardware-software partitioning for physical-layer interfaces.
• Architect monitoring systems and diagnostics to track link health and BER trends.
• Design firmware to control high-speed transceivers and manage real-time loops.
• Collaborate with TPU Systems, Networking Software and HPC teams for silicon firmware integration.
• Identify bottlenecks in hardware-software interfaces affecting AI infrastructure.
