Job summary

Stored Energy Systems, LLC in Longmont, CO is seeking a Senior Embedded Hardware Engineer to design and develop electronic components used in industrial power systems ranging from 150W to 100kW. You will work on battery chargers, DC power systems, and related products from concept through production launch.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 8+ years of experience, strong embedded systems know-how, and hands-on use of lab equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; 8+ years electronics design experience required.
• Strong fundamentals in digital circuit design, development and testing with microcontroller-based embedded systems.
• Schematic capture and PCB layout for mixed signal boards.
• Knowledge of UART, I2C, SPI, CAN, etc.
• Experience with lab test equipment (high-speed scopes, power supplies, electronic loads, voltmeters, logic analyzers).
• Experience taking a design from concept to volume production.
• Flexible, independent team player with strong problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Design system controllers, sensors and accessories for power systems and battery monitors with embedded microcontrollers.
• Develop and modify embedded firmware to support hardware bring-up, diagnostics and testing.
• Contribute to sustaining efforts on existing products.
• Design production tests and equipment for new products introduction.
• Perform design verification, regulatory and system integration testing for reliability.
• Participate in full product development lifecycle: requirements, design, implementation, test, maintenance.
