Stored Energy Systems LLC (SENS) in Longmont, CO is seeking a highly skilled Power Electronics Engineer IV to design and develop industrial battery chargers, inverters, and related accessories from concept through production Launch and ongoing support. The role requires deep expertise in power conversion, embedded control systems, and a broad power range from 150W to 100kW.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 8+ years of power conversion experience OR a master’s degree with 6+ years of power conversion experience.
• Proven experience designing power conversion systems, including active front-end designs for single and three-phase AC inputs.
• Strong understanding of isolation requirements, including creepage and clearance standards (UL, IEC).
• Experience with EMI/EMC design, compliance, filtering, and troubleshooting.
• Deep knowledge of power semiconductor devices (MOSFETs, SiC, GaN), gate drivers, and protection circuits.

Responsibilities

• Design, analyze, simulate, prototype, and validate power conversion systems and topologies.
• Develop and implement both analog and digital control loops.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including product specifications, schematics, and interface control documents.
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Quality teams.
• Support product transition to manufacturing, including design for manufacturability and test readiness.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in production and field environments.
• Mentor and support the development of team members, contributing to a culture of continuous improvement.
