Job summary

Curtiss-Wright in Dayton, Ohio seeks a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer to lead development across embedded hardware projects. You will define requirements, architect system interfaces, write design docs, and mentor junior engineers while contributing to the framework used across products.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical/Computer Engineering with minimum 10 years' experience.
• Embedded hardware knowledge and processor systems experience (Intel, ARM, PIC, Atmel, NXP).
• Strong knowledge of hardware interfaces (Ethernet, PCIe/PCI, Fibre Channel, I2C, SPI, USB).
• Validation and production test methodologies; reading IC datasheets and schematics.
• Diagnostic tools such as oscilloscopes and digital analyzers; project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next generation initiatives.
• Define system architecture based on required functionality.
• Conceive system interfaces and prototypes for business applications.
• Write requirements and analyze options for design.
• Influence framework architecture across multiple products or systems.
• Design, develop and test embedded hardware; support existing hardware.
• Develop test procedures and execute verification testing.
• Generate accurate user and design documentation.
• Provide mentoring for junior engineering staff.
• Liaise with customers and participate in risk/criterion reviews.
