Job summary

Curtiss-Wright seeks an experienced Principal FPGA Engineer to join our Ashburn, VA engineering team in a senior, hands‑on role. You will lead FPGA design for DoD and secure products, mentor junior engineers, and drive projects from concept through production.

You will collaborate with cross‑functional teams across hardware, FPGA, software and manufacturing, performing HDL coding, simulation, synthesis, verification, and test to ensure robust, high‑speed designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
• 10+ years FPGA hardware development experience at 100/400 Gz data rates.
• Strong RTL design flow (System Verilog, Verilog, or VHDL).
• Proven problem‑solving and debugging skills with lab equipment.
• Experience leading projects or mentoring team members preferred.
• US Citizenship is mandatory; Active security clearance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead FPGA design projects with architecture, implementation, and validation guidance.
• Collaborate with IPTs and cross‑functional teams to bring products from concept to production.
• Mentor junior FPGA engineers and oversee circuit card development and testing.
• Provide technical guidance across projects and ensure timely delivery.
