Job summary

Vogrinc Search Group seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead development of rugged embedded electronic systems for defense and industrial applications. You will own architecture, design, bring-up, and verification of complex boards with Intel/ARM cores, high-speed interfaces, and RFSoCs.

You will collaborate across hardware, FPGA, software, systems, and manufacturing teams, and influence product architecture and development processes in a high-reliability environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline.
• 7+ years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, embedded hardware design, or electronic product development.
• Strong understanding of PC architecture, processor-based embedded systems, and hardware interconnects.
• Demonstrated PCB design capability, including schematic capture, component selection, and hands-on PCB placement and routing.
• Strong understanding of high-speed PCB design considerations, including differential signaling and practical effects such as transmission-line loss and crosstalk.
• Hands-on experience with hardware bring-up, troubleshooting, root-cause debug, and product verification/validation.
• Ability to develop test and verification plans and validate hardware against product requirements.
• Self-starting approach to problem-solving and ability to work independently through complex technical issues.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and support advanced embedded hardware systems.
• Design digital hardware incorporating Intel and ARM-based processors, DDR memory, FPGAs, MPSoCs, and RFSoCs.
• Work with high-speed interfaces such as DDR4/DDR5, PCIe, and multi-Gigabit Ethernet.
• Provide technical ownership across architecture, design, bring-up, validation, and production release.
