Job summary

Top Dog Recruiting seeks a Senior Hardware Design Engineer in Huntsville, AL to lead architecture and bring-up of rugged embedded hardware. You will work with Intel/ARM processors, FPGAs, DDR memory, and high-speed interfaces, taking ownership from concept to production release.

You will design, develop, test, and debug complex electronic systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and contributing to process improvements in a defense/aerospace-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years experience in electrical/embedded hardware design.
• Strong PC architecture and hardware interconnects knowledge.
• PCB design capability with hands-on routing and layout.
• Experience with high-speed PCB design and signaling.
• Hardware bring-up, debugging and verification skills.
• Ability to develop test plans and verify against requirements.
• Self-starter able to work independently across product lifecycle.
• Willingness to contribute across full lifecycle, from concept to sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, debug, and support advanced embedded hardware systems.
• Create digital hardware with Intel/ARM processors, FPGAs, and MPSoCs.
• Integrate high-speed interfaces such as PCIe and multi-Gigabit Ethernet.
• Own hardware programs from architecture through production release and sustainment.
