Job summary

Google is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for Embedded Pixel Graphics to advance GPU driver technologies and embedded software across Pixel devices. You will contribute to kernel and user-space driver stacks, debug complex issues, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to shape future silicon and software integration.

The role demands deep experience in C/C++, driver development, and embedded OS, with a focus on graphics performance and silicon bring-up.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in low level systems programming languages (e.g. C++ or C).
  • 3 years of experience developing and maintaining device drivers that interface software with hardware.
  • 3 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.
  • 1 year of experience with Graphics Processing Units or GPU architecture and its role in a system.

Responsibilities

  • Develop GPU graphics and compute technologies spanning the full GPU software stack.
  • Seek general solutions to problems, minimizing application or device-specific workarounds to serve users of all Pixel devices.
  • Help evaluate and bring-up devices and work with product and engineering teams to define the role and requirements of the GPU in future product designs.
  • Debug sophisticated user mode and kernel mode problems.
