Job summary

Amazon Leo seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer to design and implement flight software for Star Tracker systems operating in Linux environments aboard satellites. You will own the embedded software lifecycle, from requirements through deployment, and collaborate with hardware, systems, and operations teams to ensure robust, fault-tolerant performance.

You will contribute to autonomous behavior, OTA updates, and fault management while guiding a multi-disciplinary team across hardware,

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years programming in at least one language (C/C++ or similar).
• 5+ years leading design/architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience in embedded development in C/C++ and mentoring/tech lead.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize highly reliable flight software for Star Tracker flight systems in Linux environments.
• Architect and implement fault-tolerant, redundant software systems with continuous uptime across satellites.
• Build and maintain test, validation, and simulation infrastructure (HIL/SIL).
• Own full lifecycle of embedded software delivery from requirements to deployment and maintenance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy high-speed optical communication systems.
• Develop autonomous operational behaviors for satellite recovery and anomaly response.
• Improve OTA update processes for safe delivery to hundreds of satellites.
