Job summary

Eaton Corporation in Raleigh, NC is hiring a Senior Embedded Firmware & FPGA Engineer. You will design, develop, test, and release embedded software for next-generation SiC-based three-phase power conversion systems, collaborating with global teams to bring new products to market.

The role is hybrid (3 days in-office, 2 days remote); relocation assistance and sponsorship support are available for qualified US candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical/Electronics or Computer Engineering with 3+ years real-time firmware/embedded software for three-phase power electronics OR
• Masters degree with 1+ year real-time embedded software experience for three-phase power electronics
• Experience in embedded firmware development and programming in C/C++ preferred
• Experience with FPGA-based digital control implementations and PWM modulation

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and release embedded software for SiC-based three-phase power conversion systems
• Translate system-level specs into embedded software architecture
• Evaluate architecture options considering cost, performance, and schedule
• Develop and test embedded software in C/C++ for real-time control
• Validate designs using real-time hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) simulations
• Develop HDL code for FPGA implementation of digital control algorithms
• Perform synthesis and timing analysis using FPGA toolchains
• Support board bring-up and debugging with test equipment
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure product readiness
