Job summary

OnPoint Insights LLC is seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to develop embedded software for magnetic resonance platforms. The role requires strong C++ programming skills, hands-on embedded development, and the ability to learn complex systems independently with minimal supervision.

You will collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, and architecture teams, write tests, participate in design reviews, and maintain documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience developing embedded software or firmware.
• Strong C++ programming skills including OO design, memory management, and concurrency.
• Hands-on experience with hardware interfaces, real-time systems, or resource-constrained embedded platforms.
• Experience with Linux, Git, and build/container-based workflows.
• Experience with CI, automated testing, and code reviews.

Responsibilities

• Develop firmware features from requirements through design, implementation, integration, testing, and defect resolution.
• Write maintainable embedded software using modern C++, OO design, clear interfaces, and proper error handling.
• Learn existing codebases, hardware interfaces, tools, and system behavior.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, software, and architecture teams to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
• Diagnose software-hardware interaction problems using debuggers, emulators, analyzers, and logs.
• Create unit and integration tests, support automated testing, and contribute to CI.
