Job summary

Advanced Energy seeks a Senior Firmware Engineer based in Eden Prairie, MN to lead embedded firmware architecture for the next-generation platform using C++ in real-time embedded systems.

The role requires strong embedded design experience to develop and modify embedded software, programmable logic, and related circuitry for electronic equipment and devices. You will collaborate with hardware and software teams across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in electrical or computer engineering.
• Hands-on lab experience is required.
• Experience with embedded RTOS and real-time systems.
• Ability to read schematics and test hardware.

Responsibilities

• Participates in all phases of embedded program development life cycle: requirements, design, implementation, integration, test.
• Applies engineering principles in digital design/architecture for target application.
• Owns design and development of embedded real-time software with hardware.
• Collaborates with Systems Engineers and PM to decompose system requirements.
• Develops code and architecture documentation.
• Conducts design reviews of team members' work products.
• Works with cross-functional teams to evaluate hardware/software interfaces and performance.
• Designs product architectures meeting timing, algorithms, configuration, and interfaces.
