Brooksource is seeking a self-directed firmware engineer to contribute to embedded software development for MR platforms in Wisconsin. You will work with firmware, systems, hardware, FPGA, software, and architecture teams to translate requirements into reliable software and maintain rigorous engineering practices.

The role requires strong C++ fundamentals, hands-on embedded development experience, and the ability to quickly learn a complex technical environment with minimal supervision.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer/Electrical Engineering, CS, or related field.
• 5+ years of professional embedded or firmware experience.
• Strong C++ programming skills with OO design, memory management, and concurrency.

Mansioni

• Own firmware features from requirements to verification and defect resolution.
• Learn existing code and hardware interfaces; ask focused questions as needed.
• Develop maintainable embedded software in modern C++ with clear interfaces and error handling.
• Collaborate with systems, hardware, FPGA, and architecture teams to clarify requirements and resolve cross-functional issues.
• Use debuggers, emulators, analyzers, logs to isolate complex software/hardware issues.
• Create unit and integration tests; support CI to improve quality and coverage.
• Participate in design/code reviews and provide feedback promptly.
• Plan work via user stories; communicate status, risks, and blockers early.
• Follow quality processes and produce design traceability documentation.
• Work with globally distributed teams to improve MR platform design.
