Job summary

Glydways is seeking a Senior Embedded Software Engineer to own critical firmware domains for our safety‑critical vehicle systems. You will design, prototype, build, and test production firmware and drive reliability through RTOS‑based applications.

You will own communications between MCUs, sensors, and main compute, lead bring‑up for new boards, and help set engineering standards. Hybrid role based in Pittsburgh, PA, with cross‑functional collaboration and mentoring.

Qualifications

• Expert‑level C/C++ for embedded systems; RTOS experience.
• Know-how of communication protocols (SPI/UART/I2C/CAN/TCP‑UDP).
• Safety‑critical development lifecycle knowledge is valued.

Responsibilities

• Design, prototype, build, and test production vehicle firmware for safety‑critical systems.
• Develop and optimize RTOS applications for reliability and performance.
• Own and evolve MCU/sensor communication architectures across protocols.
• Lead bring‑up, debugging of new boards/SoCs with cross‑functional teams.
• Define automated testing frameworks and mentor engineers on standards.
