Job summary

FORT Robotics in Philadelphia is seeking a Firmware Engineering Manager to lead the firmware group end-to-end. The role blends hands-on embedded engineering with strategic leadership to keep the firmware architecture coherent with hardware, cloud, and safety needs.

You will guide six-plus years of embedded development, manage performance, and drive Agile processes while delivering high-assurance firmware for safety-critical applications.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of embedded software development with 2+ years in leadership or management.
• Solid embedded expertise in C/C++, RTOS, and Embedded Linux.
• Experience with hardware bring-up and low-level debugging.
• Ability to own firmware CI/CD and drive delivery with quality.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on embedded work: develop production C/C++ for safety-critical devices.
• Implement real-time firmware for RTOS targets and bare-metal environments.
• Bring up new hardware and debug with JTAG, GDB, and scopes.
• Maintain firmware CI/CD pipelines and test automation.
• Lead the team: Agile process, technical health, and workforce management.
• Collaborate with Product, Hardware, Cloud, and Safety teams for coherence.
