Job summary

Garmin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for our Marine Telematics Engineering team in Cary, NC. The role focuses on on-device technology, embedded Linux, and networked applications across Wi‑Fi, LTE, BLE, and CAN to enhance marine system operations.

You will lead complex software designs, contribute to architecture decisions, and help drive project plans for new Garmin marine products and services. {

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field plus relevant software engineering experience.
• Strong programming background in C/C++ and on embedded Linux systems.
• Experience designing large software systems and leading development projects.
• Ability to decompose requirements and deliver high-quality, scalable software.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership and architecture guidance for embedded software projects.
• Develop and maintain Marine embedded network-based applications and services in C/C++ on embedded Linux.
• Lead software design reviews, mentor teammates, and plan project milestones.
• Optimize performance of network-enabled software and contribute to product development plans.
