Job summary

Garmin International is seeking a Software Engineering Team Leader to guide embedded software engineers on the Marine software team in Cary, North Carolina. You will coordinate requirements and designs for marine chartplotters and lead a skilled group developing entertainment, weather, and media applications.

Responsibilities include leading design reviews, creating development plans, managing milestones, and mentoring team members.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 5+ years or 10+ years experience.
Knowledge of C, C++ and embedded systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Leadership or mentorship experience.
Local candidate to be considered for Cary, NC.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of embedded software engineers to design and develop marine software.
Coordinate and participate in requirements and design generation per Garmin methodology.
Participate in design reviews ensuring proper attendance and coverage of topics.
Create product development plans as directed by management.
Ensure milestones and schedules are met per the development plan.
Recruit, interview, hire, train and evaluate team members.
