Job summary

Jobot is seeking a senior embedded software engineer to maintain and advance C-based control systems inside autonomous ocean-profiling floats. You will split time between maintaining existing software and driving new R&D, working directly with hardware on the bench to build, test, and refine bare-metal C code on ARM microcontrollers.

Qualifications

Senior-level experience writing embedded C for resource-constrained, low-memory systems.
Direct experience programming ARM microcontrollers.
Working knowledge of Linux-based embedded systems.
Bare-metal/bootloader-level development experience (no OS) strongly preferred.
Comfortable working at the software-hardware boundary using schematics, datasheets, and lab equipment.
Java experience (used on shore-side software).

Responsibilities

Maintain existing float control software for autonomous ocean-profiling floats.
Drive new R&D development and hardware-in-the-loop testing on bench hardware.
Build, test, and refine bare-metal C code running on ARM microcontrollers.
Take ownership of the decoder software that supports customer data delivery.
