Job summary

Serco is seeking an Experienced Electronics Technician onsite at NSWC PCD in Panama City, FL. You will design mixed-signal hardware, create schematics and PCB layouts, and ensure signal, power integrity, and EMI/EMC compliance. You will implement embedded software in C/C++ and bring-up hardware prototypes.

You will run simulations with LTspice/Pspice, use lab equipment, develop test plans, and generate documentation and BOMs. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

• Active Interim Secret Clearance with ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance.
• US Citizenship.
• Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.
• 5 years of similar/related experience.
• 3 years of embedded hardware design and full product lifecycle development.
• Experience with schematic capture and PCB layout tools (Altium Designer, Siemens Xpedition, or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of digital and analog circuit design.
• Experience with embedded communication protocols (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232/485, CAN, Ethernet, USB).
• Hands-on with lab equipment (power supplies, electronic loads, multimeters, oscilloscopes).
• Moderate proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems programming.
• EMI/EMC mitigation techniques understanding.
• Fiber optic system components integration knowledge.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design of mixed-signal hardware systems including microcontrollers and power management.
• Create schematics and multi-layer PCB layouts using EDA tools (Altium, Xpedition, OrCAD/Allegro, KiCad).
• Ensure adherence to signal integrity, power integrity, EMI/EMC compliance.
• Implement microprocessors into designs using C/C++.
• Run test simulations using Spice software (LTspice, Pspice).
• Assemble, test, and bring-up hardware prototypes.
• Use lab equipment to verify performance against specs.
• Develop and execute hardware test plans, thermal and reliability tests.
• Troubleshoot hardware down to component level.
• Create and maintain engineering docs and BOMs.
