Unknown Ultrasound Systems startup in Missouri seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead embedded hardware and firmware development for high-performance ultrasound subsystems. You will design mixed-signal circuits, FPGA components, and be hands-on from prototyping to production in a regulated environment.

The role emphasizes HIL testing, test automation, and collaboration with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams to ensure robust, manufacturable solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering; advanced degrees preferred.
• 7+ years in embedded systems development with hardware and firmware.
• Extensive firmware experience in bare-metal and RTOS environments (FreeRTOS/Zephyr).

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement embedded hardware and firmware for ultrasound subsystems (mixed signal, RF, optoelectronic).
• Extend and maintain firmware with focus on quality and performance.
• Develop HIL and automated production testing tools for validation.
• Lead test spec creation, tolerances, and regulatory documentation.
• Own FPGA RTL features (Verilog/VHDL/Amaranth).
• Build end-to-end data acquisition pipeline for testing and manufacturing.
• Collaborate with hardware, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers for manufacturability.
