Job summary

Deepsight-Technology is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our ultrasound-focused team in St. Louis.

You will bring up, optimize, and integrate embedded subsystems, and help design robust test infrastructure from prototype to production in a fast-paced medical device startup. You will contribute to mixed-signal and RF design, FPGA development, and HIL testing while ensuring compliance with design controls and regulatory submissions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field; Master's or Ph.D. preferred.
• 7+ years of progressive embedded systems experience in hardware and firmware.
• Strong experience with bare-metal and RTOS firmware (FreeRTOS, Zephyr).
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python; familiarity with Rust a plus.
• FPGA development using Verilog/VHDL/Amaranth HDL.
• Schematic capture and PCB design with Altium Designer or KiCad.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and implement embedded hardware and firmware for ultrasound subsystems, focusing on mixed-signal, RF, and optoelectronic components.
• Extend and maintain existing firmware, ensuring high quality and reliability.
• Develop HIL and automated production tests to validate embedded systems.
• Create detailed test specs, define acceptance tolerances, and contribute to documentation for regulatory submissions.
• Own FPGA RTL features and end-to-end data acquisition pipelines for testing and manufacturing support.
• Optimize embedded subsystem performance and lead HW/SW integration into the system architecture.
• Define requirements for capital test equipment supporting development and production testing.
• Lead failure analysis and root-cause investigations for embedded issues.
• Collaborate with electrical, software, systems, and manufacturing engineers for regulated manufacturability.
