Job summary

Microchip Technology Inc. in Hauppauge, NY and Austin, TX is seeking a senior software engineer to develop, integrate, and maintain Ethernet device drivers for USB- and PCIe-based NICs.

You will work across Linux, Windows, QNX, and RTOS platforms, collaborating with hardware, firmware, validation, and customer-support teams in the U.S., Denmark, India. You will design, implement, and maintain drivers, tools, and documentation while supporting customer integrations and reproducing system-level

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in CE, EE, CS, or a related field with 7.5+ years relevant experience.
• Experience developing embedded software, device drivers, or low-level software for one or more operating systems including Linux, QNX, Windows, macOS, or RTOS platforms.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and working experience with Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop, integrate, and maintain Ethernet device drivers for Microchip USB- and PCIe-based NICs.
• Support multiple OS environments including Linux, Windows, QNX, and RTOS platforms.
• Analyze driver, protocol, performance, and hardware interactions to identify root causes and deliver verified resolutions.
