Microchip Technology Inc. seeks a Senior Applications Engineer to join the USB and Networking business unit in Hauppauge, NY. You will develop evaluation platforms, support drivers across Linux, Windows, RTOS, and MacOS, and create training and reference designs for new products.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years in PCIe, Ethernet, and high-speed signaling, plus C/C++, Python, and Linux experience. Travel 0–25% and cross-team collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of PCIe, Ethernet, and high-speed signaling.
• Experience with SPI, I2C, UART and other protocols.
• Proficient in C/C++ and scripting languages like Python or Shell.
• Experience with Linux development and embedded software.

Responsabilités

• Develop and support evaluation platform PCBs for PCIe and USB products.
• Provide drivers and software support for Linux, Windows, RTOS; plan driver development.
• Create technical collateral, reference designs, and training materials.
• Collaborate with Design, Product/Test, and Marketing teams.
