Actalent is seeking a highly skilled Embedded Controls Engineer to design and build models from scratch using MATLAB/Simulink for complex physical systems, including engines, generators, and power equipment.

This contract-to-hire role is based in Milwaukee, WI, onsite. You will develop control algorithms, validate models, and enable automatic code generation for embedded software, collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Model-based design using MATLAB/Simulink to build models from scratch.
• Strong understanding of physical system modeling, controls theory, and simulation.
• Develop, validate, and tune control algorithms for complex systems.
• Enable automated code generation from Simulink or similar MBBD environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop physics-based, mathematical, and data-driven models using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Create and validate models from scratch for complex physical systems such as engines, generators, and power conversion equipment.
• Design, simulate, tune, and validate control algorithms.
• Configure and maintain models for automatic code generation into embedded software environments.
• Participate in model verification, simulation, testing, and controls validation activities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to develop next-generation controls technology.
• Support embedded controls and software development activities through model-based design methodologies.
