Job summary

Milwaukee Tool is seeking a Principal Motor Control Engineer to design, model, simulate, and implement advanced control algorithms for battery systems and power tool technology. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of control, electronic, firmware, and system engineers to deliver breakthroughs and mass-produce solutions.

You will mentor engineers, drive best practices, and ensure projects stay on schedule while leveraging MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design and code generation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years in model-based control development with MATLAB/Simulink.
• Strong knowledge of closed-loop control, vector control, and PWM techniques.
• Ability to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
• Proven problem-solving, independent judgement, and teamwork in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, model, simulate, and implement advanced control algorithms.
• Develop, analyze, maintain and document control system architecture.
• Use MATLAB, Simulink, and Stateflow for development and validation.
• Collaborate with Hardware and Firmware Engineers to optimize algorithms.
• Peer review software and controls designs/source code.
• Lead and mentor the team in engineering best practices.
