Job summary

Global Connect Technologies in Wisconsin is seeking an Embedded Controls Engineer to design and implement control software for power electronics, DC-DC converters, inverters, and motor drives.

You will model and validate control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink, implement real-time strategies on microcontrollers and DSPs, and work with CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Modbus, and Ethernet; contribute to system testing, debugging, and verification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Controls, or related engineering.
• 2+ years of embedded controls experience.
• Strong MATLAB/Simulink and model-based design experience.
• Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems.
• Experience with control-system development, modeling, tuning, and validation.
• Knowledge of embedded communication protocols.
• HIL/SIL and system-level testing experience.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop embedded control software for power electronics and energy systems.
• Model and validate control algorithms using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Implement real-time control strategies on microcontrollers, DSPs, and embedded processors.
• Develop regulation, protection, monitoring, and closed-loop control functions.
• Perform system integration, testing, debugging, and verification.
• Work with communication protocols including CAN, SPI, I2C, UART, Modbus, and Ethernet.
• Support HIL, SIL, and system-level testing.
• Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.
