Job summary

Google is seeking software engineers to design and develop audio experiences for Pixel devices, integrating novel audio technology and models. You will work on AI and human speech interfaces, partnering with Audio Research and other teams to integrate offerings across Pixel phones.

The role requires building features from embedded lifecycles to high-level OS applications, delivering performant solutions in constrained environments while balancing power, performance, latency, and user experience.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for design and development of audio experiences on Pixel devices, integrating novel audio technology and models.
• Work on features at the AI and human speech and audio interface.
• Work closely with Audio Research and other technology partner teams to integrate their offerings on Pixel phones.
• Implement experiences and features, working with codebases throughout the stack from embedded to high level OS application.
• Deliver performant solutions in highly constrained embedded compute environments, respecting power, performance, latency and user-experience tradeoffs.

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 2 years of experience working with embedded operating systems.

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with debugging tools and techniques.
• Experience in one or more of the following: Java, C/C++.
• Experience with consumer electronics, mobile devices or wearable devices design.
• Knowledge of hardware architecture.
• Understanding of embedded systems and real-time operating systems.
• Understanding of audio processing.

Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $147000 - $210000 (USD) + 15% bonus target + equity + benefits
